In team roping, two riders work together to rope a steer in the quickest time possible. One rider, the header, ropes the steer around the horns and turns it, while the other rider, the heeler, ropes the steer’s hind legs. The riders must complete their task as quickly and accurately as possible to get the best score. At professional levels, a successful team can stretch the steer in just 4-12 seconds, but lower level teams may take longer. It’s a thrilling and challenging event that requires precision and teamwork, making it a favorite among rodeo fans.
